Today, Tuesday, September 13, 2022 is the beginning of the 6-month pre-application process for the short term rental "lottery." This is not the same thing as the application for the license itself. The 6-month period is from September 13, 2022 to March 13, 2023.
As long as you pre-apply anytime within the 6-month period, you will be entered into the same "lottery" which will take place sometime after March 13, 2023.
It’s important to note that even if you are selected in the lottery next year, it doesn’t guarantee you will be granted an STR license due to the various restrictions and requirements placed by Clark County; restrictions and requirements that, in our opinion, violate the Nevada and US Constitutions and are designed to deprive homeowners from being able to qualify and obtain a license.
Our petition for an injunction against these Clark County onerous regulations will be heard on September 20, 2022 in District Court.
A ruling from the court granting our petition could result in Clark County's current short term rental regulations to be found unconstitutional and as a result the County would have to come up with new rules and regulations that better protect and respect the private property rights of homeowners in Clark County and truly offer a path to legalization that's fair and just.
