Dear Members and Supporters,
As we close out the year, we want to take a moment to thank each of you for standing with us and to share an important recap of what we accomplished together—and what lies ahead in the coming year.
What We Accomplished This Year
Because of your support, the Greater Las Vegas Short-Term Rental Association achieved a historic milestone:
We took Clark County and the State of Nevada to federal court to challenge their unconstitutional short-term rental regulations.
The court granted us two temporary injunctions, one blocking Clark County from forcing Airbnb to remove unlicensed listings and another one blocking the County from issuing fines, penalties, or liens against our Association members for operating their short-term rentals without a license.
In its ruling, the court recognized that the County’s licensing and enforcement scheme is likely unconstitutional, validating what we have been saying for years.
This injunction has provided immediate relief to our members who were being threatened with devastating fines and loss of their homes.
This outcome did not happen by accident. It happened because we organized, funded the fight, and refused to be intimidated.
What’s Coming Next Year
The fight is not over—but we are now on strong legal footing.
In the coming year, we will:
Continue litigating to secure a permanent ruling protecting our property rights
Monitor and challenge any attempts by the County to bypass or undermine the court’s injunction
Expand legal protections for members facing fines, penalties, or liens
Increase public education and media outreach to counter misinformation
Push back against corporate-backed policies that target individual homeowners
Organize more meetups to connect with and learn from other local hosts
Offer free seminars to take your hosting skills to the next level
IMPORTANT: Membership & Property Information Required
To be covered and protected under our Association, homeowners of short-term rentals must ensure that:
They hold an active Association membership (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum), and
They have submitted a list of their rental properties to the Association.
If we do not have your property information on file, we cannot ensure inclusion or protection under ongoing legal actions.
If you are unsure of your membership status, need to renew or upgrade, or become a new member, now is the time. Click HERE to check-out our membership page.
Members-Only Meeting Announcement
We will be hosting a members-only private meeting in January to:
Explain what the injunction does—and does not—cover
Discuss how to handle past and current fines, penalties, liens, and enforcement risks
Answer questions about compliance, enforcement pauses, and next legal steps
Outline how members should protect themselves moving forward
Details and registration information will be sent soon.
Meetups
We are also excited to announce that we will be offering more in-person and online host meetups focused on hosting education and growth that will be open to members and non-members. Please note that these will not cover updates or discussions related to our lawsuit or legal fight. These sessions will:
Feature practical seminars designed to help hosts become more confident and successful
Improve guest experience
Increase bookings and revenue
Manage their rentals more efficiently
Get the most value out of being a host
We're especially proud to share that these meetups will be led by specially invited guest experts, including well-known company CEO's, experienced educators, Airbnb representatives, and highly successful professionals in the field, giving attendees direct access to real-world insights, strategies, and inspiration from industry leaders-and best of all, all of this will be offered completely free to everyone who attends! Whether you're just getting started or looking to level up, these meetups will be a great opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together as a hosting community. Don't miss these out.
This year proved one thing clearly: when we stand together, we win.
Thank you for believing in this fight, supporting it, and helping protect property rights—not just for today, but for future generations.
We look forward to standing with you in the year ahead.
With gratitude and resolve,
Jackie and Louis, Founders Greater Las Vegas Short-Term Rental Association (GLVSTRA)
