There are over 10,000 short-term rentals in Las Vegas and thousands of property owners behind them. Imagine the strength we would have if every one of us came together, united under one movement. We could be an unstoppable force for fairness, freedom, and the right to use our own properties as we choose.
If we had stood together from the beginning—speaking out and showing up—our voices would have been too powerful to ignore. Politicians would have thought twice before passing unfair regulations, knowing we represent a large and organized community of voters, business owners, and taxpayers.
Many of the politicians we’ve spoken with admit it: yes, the hotel and culinary unions have tremendous influence in this state—but they only succeed when the public stays quiet. Our silence gives them permission to shape our future without us.
We understand that some hosts prefer to stay under the radar out of fear of being targeted by the County. But staying silent only helps those who want to take away your right to rent. It gives more power to those who already have too much—and it weakens the few elected officials who want to stand with us.
The truth is, short-term rentals are overwhelmingly popular. Millions of travelers prefer them. Even many politicians use Airbnb or Vrbo when they travel! That’s proof that what we’re fighting for isn’t fringe—it’s mainstream. We are representing something that people genuinely love and believe in.
Now, we must stand together and remind those in power that we will not be silenced, not be intimidated, and not be stripped of our freedoms. Every time we speak up, organize, and show up, they take notice. And with elections around the corner—and the hotel industry already facing growing consumer backlash—our timing couldn’t be better.
This is our moment.
